What is the Chamois Hagar?

The Evil Chamois Hagar combines the stability, confidence, and capability of a hardtail mountain bike with the speed and precision of a gravel bike. It's a great choice for longer rides with terrain that varies from dirt roads to double track to singletrack. Its super slack 66.6° head angle keeps you in control against all odds, and the 50mm tires strike the perfect balance between traction and speed. There's tons of mounts for serious adventure and options for either a 1x or 2x drivetrain.

Who’s the Chamois Hagar for?

The Chamois Hagar is for riders who love mixing it up and going wherever they please. If you love the variation of all road and gravel riding, you'll find the Chamois Hagar is fast on all sorts of surfaces. But to get the most out of this bike, you'll have to start getting weird and heading off into singletrack, fire roads, and places that the group ride wouldn't dare go.

Chamois Hagar FAQS

CAN I RUN ROAD PLUS?
The 80mm bb drop makes 700c wheels the ideal choice here. We wouldn't go 650b if we were you.
WHAT'S THE SMALLEST CHAINRING I CAN RUN ON THE CHAMOIS HAGAR?
The minimum chain ring compatible with the Chamois Hagar is a 36t ring. If you want to run smaller rings you must ensure that you do not cross chain the gears or the chain may rub on the chain stay rubber.

What is the Wreckoning?

The Wreckoning will have you wondering how the hell you just cleared that gap, torched that off-camber corner, and smashed through that rock garden. Don’t worry about it, just hang on, because this long travel 29er carries downhill speed like no other and allows you to rip through terrain like it’s barely there. Since its launch it’s been one of Evil’s best selling bikes and has received plenty of praise from those who originally doubted this big-wheeled monster’s ability to shred like the 27.5 platform.

The Wreckoning makes the unrideable rideable thanks to a 170mm fork, huge wheels, and three rear shock options that let you optimize this beast for where you want to ride. The 29er wheels provide you insane amounts of traction and rollover ability so you can come in hot and plow through whatever’s next. While it’s definitely a gravity-driven downhill rig, it’s comfortable on the climbs and its chainstays are short enough to provide playful feel that keeps you in control when you’re slashing berms and squaring off corners.

Who’s the Wreckoning for?

When you want to go bigger and faster than ever, you’ll want the Wreckoning on your side.

What is The Following?

The Following is back, and this time it’s “More Better’er.” When it first came out, people were a little confused because it was a unique combination of big wheels, short travel, and low and slack geometry, but it turns out they were on to something. People loved it, and words like “quiver killer” started getting tossed around. Few 29ers share its enduro-style geometry, and the new version has 20mm more reach to open the cockpit and provide a more stable wheelbase and keeps you centered in the bike. Its 430mm chainstays ensure you’ll still be destroying berms and it accelerates as quickly as it takes corners.

Trunnion shock mounting makes the initial stroke smoother and allows the suspension to be more active throughout the travel. They also added supports for various piggyback, coil, and inline shocks so you can really tune this rig into the right tool for the job. The Following MB now employs Boost rear axle spacing for stiffer, stronger wheels and 27.5+ compatibility when you’re looking for tons of traction. More new features are a threaded bottom bracket and water bottle mount.

Who’s The Following for?

The Following MB is perfect for riders that are looking for an incredibly versatile shred machine that will allow them to really make it their own and keep them crushing near and far.

What is The Offering?

Before the Offering, there was the Following and the Wreckoning. The Following was designed as Evil’s short travel trail ripper and the Wreckoning was built to be a long travel forest shaking monster truck. Eventually, Evil was able to explore the possibilities of a bike that lived somewhere in between and could provide some of the best aspects of both. Enter the Offering.

The idea was to keep the bike agile and playful while holding on to its downhill crushing roots. The rear linkage prevents pedal-bob and they steepened the seat angle to 76° which encourages the climbs instead of making them an arduous chore. The longer wheelbase and reach add to the speed and traction on rough descents and keeps your positioning “in” the bike for a confident, controlled feel. The 29 inch wheels with even more tire and chain clearance ensure you’ve got ample ability to plow through the rocks and roots while still holding a tight line.

Who’s The Offering for?

Evil listened to riders and learned what people were looking for. They provided the Offering for riders that want an adventure seeking beastly 29er that wants to attack climbs, destroy corners, smash descents, and hit every drop along the way.

Evil's Core Technology

Evil Bikes - The Delta System from Evil Bikes on Vimeo.

Here are 10 features (other than the best model and paint scheme names in the mountain bike world) that you’ll get when you buy any Evil bike:

  1. Bolt on Axle - The rear axle bolts directly into the derailleur hanger for stiffness and easy operation.
  2. Custom ISCG05 Mounts - Custom ISCG05 tabs accommodate lower guide collaboration with e13 components.
  3. Delta System – Trunnion mount works with the new metric shock standard. Upper shock bolts run on bearings for the smoothest feel.
  4. Downtube Protector – Molded Rubber Downtube Protector adds a layer of defence against loose rocks.
  5. E13 Chainguide – Custom e13 lower guide and bash guard.
  6. Integrated Chainguide – The integrated carbon chainguide keeps chains on.
  7. Internal Routing – Internal routing for stealth dropper posts. The rear derailleur and brake routing routes under the toptube. The rear derailleur cable is internally routed through the swingarm.
  8. Plastic Fantastic – Uni Directional Carbon with One Piece Molded construction.
  9. Rubber Protection – Rubber compound on the chainstay and seat stay prevents damage and quiets the chatter.
  10. Sag Meter – Suspension set up is easy with an integrated SAG meter into the non-drive side Delta Link. Push it forward, sit on the bike, and adjust air pressure to 30%.

Evil was born out of the collapse of Iron Horse bikes. Thanks to a revolutionary suspension system developed by Dave Weagle and direction from designer/visionary Kevin Walsh and bike industry stalwart Todd Seplavy, Iron Horse was just beginning to take off. Then, suddenly, the brand went under due to a lack of finance. At the time, Evil was one of Dave Weagle’s side projects and once Iron Horse went under, Dave, Kevin, and Todd teamed up to bring Evil to life.

The trio agreed that Evil should be something apart from the trends they saw in the mountain bike industry. They aimed to focus on building a welcoming brand that was more about the experience of riding bikes than all the tech that goes into them. They felt that so many were agonizing over minute details and numbers and acronyms that the actual act and spirit of riding was starting to suffer. Evil was going to be different, and it started with making no-nonsense bikes that captured the fun essence of biking and sparing riders with all the typical tech-obsessive marketing fluff.

Evil had a great design, built around Dave Weagle’s groundbreaking suspension system, but time and time again, the brand suffered from manufacturing problems. Over the course of a few deaths and rebirths, Weagle and Seplavy moved on to other projects and Evil became a one-man show, helmed by Kevin Walsh. Eventually, things turned around. With a new carbon fiber model called the Undead that held up in manufacturing, slowly but surely the excitement that had surrounded Evil in its early days returned with a vengeance.

Walsh hasn’t looked back since and the company has come into its own. Evil bikes have been shredding local trails all over the country and winning races across the globe. The brand is now synonymous with forward-thinking design and top class performance, and its growth continues to be characterized by something Walsh takes pride in: Evil lets the bikes speak for themselves. There are now more models and styles to choose from, all of which are sinisterly fun and carry the Evil DNA with which Walsh hopes to influence the culture and trajectory of mountain biking.
