Release date: November 4th 2021

What is the Reserve Fillmore Valve?

Reserve fillmore valves

The Fillmore Valve is a new, entirely tubeless-specific valve from Reserve and Santa Cruz that makes setting up and maintaining tubeless tires easier than ever. It’s a simple, smart design that vastly improves performance. Trust us, once you try ‘em, you’ll never go back to presta valves again.

Who's it for?

The Fillmore tubeless valve is for any and all riders who run or want to run tubeless setups. Mountain bikers and other riders on high volume tubeless tires will love this incredibly well-designed product.

Why you'll love it

You’ll love the Fillmore Valve because it takes the frustration out of running tubeless tires.

  • setup is faster and easier
  • it doesn’t require any tools
  • it works with normal rims and pumps
  • extra durability and clog resistance means you won’t have any more headaches

Explore the Fillmore Valve tech

Reserve fillmore valves have 3x airflow than presta

3x the airflow of presta valves

Increased airflow means you can fill your tires faster and more easily. When working with presta valves, most riders would say setting up tubeless isn’t worth the hassle unless you have an air compressor. With triple the airflow rushing through the Fillmore Valve, you can just use the floor pump in your garage.

Reserve fillmore valves are resistant to sealant clog

Superior resistance to clogging

The Fillmore Valve’s poppet-style design keeps the sealant out of the air hole. Once tightened, your sealant stays right where it’s supposed to and doesn’t creep up into the valve, making clogged valves a thing of the past.

Reserve fillmore valves are durable and will outlast any presta valve

Simple, tough, and easy to use

With no core to remove, bend, or clog, the Fillmore design will outlast any presta valve. You don't have to remove a core to inject sealant. Plus, letting air out is still super simple, just unscrew the cap a bit and press down for precise pressure control. This increase in durability and usability means this may be the last pair of valves you ever need.

Reserve fillmore valves work with all presta pumps and mountain bike rims up to 28mm in depth

Compatible with your pump and rims

What good is an innovative product if you have to get all new stuff to make it work? Fortunately, the 50mm Fillmore Valves work with all presta valve pumps and mountain bike rims up to 28mm in depth. Just swap your valves and you’re set!

0:00: Hey! Garren here with Reserve Wheels, and this is the technical information on the Reserve Fillmore Valve. Yeah you heard right, this is a tech video on a valve.

0:16: But this represents a major update to an absolute staple in the cycling world: the presta valve. Think about it. The presta valve has gone unchanged since its invention in the 1800s. Literally everything on the bike has been updated since then, except the presta valve. And now that we’re all starting to run modern day tubeless systems, we’re starting to run into some issues.

0:37: Because of the presta valve’s design, they don’t let in enough air to seat a tire. So you have to take the core out to get enough airflow to seat the bead.

0:48: Second, the tiny core, which encases the actual valve, is microscopic. So they always clog with sealant. In fact, they’re guaranteed to clog, because modern day tubeless sealant is made to fill a hole bigger, way bigger, than the hole in the presta valve. It’s not an ideal combo.

1:03: This is why we’ve designed the Reserve Fillmore Valve. There’s no fussy valve core to give you headaches or cause you problems, and it has 3 times the flow of a standard presta valve.

1:17: The idea behind the Reserve Fillmore Valve is high flow, no clog. But what does increasing the airflow on your tubeless valve do for you in real life? Increasing the airflow eases the ability to seat the bead on a tubeless tire.

1:28: With the Fillmore Valve there’s no core to remove and no tools required. You just attach your pump and inflate. And in most cases you don’t even need one of those special tubeless canister things.

1:37: And once it’s installed, one of the biggest benefits of the Fillmore Valve is its resistance to clogging. Because of its unique poppet design, the airflow hole is protected from sealant, making it basically impossible to clog.

1:49: The Fillmore Valve also solves some of the peskier challenges we face with a presta valve. Like the end bending over in a crash, or the whole core coming out and spraying you down with sealant when you just want to let a little bit of air out.

2:02: With the Fillmore Valve there’s no core to remove, no core to bend, and no mess to be had. So you don’t need to remove the core to fill your system with sealant. You simply take the pressure out of your tire, add your sealant to the valve, and reinflate.

2:15: Lastly, with a patented flow control design, making precise adjustments, even trailside, is a snap. Simply back off the cap, press, and you’re done. Tighten it back up and once again the whole thing is sealed from the bottom, meaning it can’t get clogged with sealant.

2:32: Yeah, I know, this is just a tubeless valve. But as many of us here at Reserve have experienced, this little thing represents a major improvement in usability with tubeless systems. In fact, if you run tubeless tires, try a Reserve Fillmore Valve. You’ll never go back to presta.
