Shipping Policies

Summit Bicycles offers free shipping* on most parts and accessories orders over $99.00. See specific category exclusions below.

Items over $299 are subject to a 1.5% shipping insurance rate.

Once shipped from Summit Bicycles, items in transit are the responsibility of the recipient to ensure they are received.

Bicycles

Summit Bicycles has a $89.00 flat shipping fee for all of our online bicycle orders.* We have a huge inventory of bikes in a variety of types, sizes, and colors. Due to the diversity in weight, dimensions, and value of our products, additional shipping fees may be applicable to your order. See the table below as a reference.

Orders for bicycles that are in stock are processed, assembled, and repackaged to be shipped in approximately 3-6 business days. Once your order is received, our eCommerce team will connect with you to establish a timeline.

Car Racks & Mounts

Summit Bicycles has a $49.00 flat shipping fee for all of our online car rack orders.*

*Our flat-rate for oversized shipments will be visible during check-out. Some orders require an additional shipping and handling fee because of size, weight, and value. Our eCommerce team will reach out if your order has any applicable shipping and handling.

All of our orders are processed in the order they are received unless otherwise specified.

Summit Bicycles will not overnight or expedite orders unless it is requested, in which case, the consumer is responsible for the additional shipping charges.

Orders placed through summitbicycles.com are sent to the eCommerce Distribution Warehouse for processing. Inventory available in-house or locally will be processed and shipped within 1-4 business days. Special orders vary depending on the vendor and availability. To help speed this process along, some special order items are drop-shipped directly to the customer.

At this time, Summit Bicycles only ships in the Contingent U.S.

In-Store Pick-Up & Home Delivery

Most orders are ready for pick-up within 24-48 hours of the original order date. However, in some circumstances, products must be transferred in from off-site locations and go through our distribution center prior to their arrival at the pick-up location. Special Orders vary depending on availability, location, and size. Our team will reach out to you via phone and email as soon as the order has been secured at the pick-up location. Unless special arrangements are made in advance, orders need to be picked up within 15 days, or a 10% restocking fee will be applied.

To arrange a pick-up at our showroom in Santa Clara, you will need to make any appointment through the eCommerce team. They can be reached by phone(855-245-3663) or email(online@summitbicycles.com), Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM.

If the order is extremely urgent, we ask that you please give us a call and confirm that the product is in-stock before heading to the store. Once confirmed, we will pull the item and have it ready for you upon your arrival.

Return PolicIes

Summit Bicycles will gladly accept returns within 30 days of the original purchase date*. All returns must be accompanied by the Returns Form that Summit Bicycles will provide upon approval of the return, and a copy of the original sales invoice or receipt. Returned items must be in new condition, with all original packaging, manuals, and accessories. Shipping and assembly fees are non-refundable. 


For all orders, we require you to receive confirmation of an accepted return prior to shipping items back. Shipping an item back without approval does not guarantee a return. Any items received back without approval may be subject to additional fees associated with packaging, shipment and/or restocking. Please email online@summitbicycles.com to initiate any and all returns/refunds.


At this time, our eCommerce team is not able to process exchanges. If the product doesn’t work out for you, we would be more than happy to find you a better solution once we receive the original order. 

Refunds are issued within 21 days from the date the return is received. All of our returns and refunds are processed Mon-Fri by the Summit Online team.

Payments will only be refunded to the original method of payment, either credit or debit card, or via Paypal. Summit Bicycles does not accept Cash on Delivery, (C.O.D), for deliveries or for returns. Refunds cannot be issued until the return has been received and inspected.

Please ensure that all eCommerce returns are: 

  • Carefully packaged to avoid additional costs if a return is damaged in transit

Please note that our stores are not able to process eCommerce returns. Your returned item(s) will be transferred back to our distribution warehouse for processing and the appropriate refund will be issued within 21 days of its arrival.

*Used and/or damaged gear, bicycles, frames, components, and accessories are not eligible for returns, exchanges, refunds, or in-store credit.

Worn Clothing

We encourage you to try on the clothing you purchase to ensure the right fit. Due to regulations, we are unable to resell some items after direct contact against skin. Please try on shorts, bibs, and chamois with underwear to confirm the fit works for you. Clothing with visible wear and tear, odor, or any other indication that it has been worn while riding cannot be returned, with the exception of Bontrager products*.

*All aftermarket Bontrager products are covered by a 30 day unconditional guarantee, and may be returned no matter the condition or reason for the return. We honor their policies, which can be found on their website. This policy supersedes all exclusions below. Any questions may be directed to store managers.

Labor & Services

Our service departments are thoroughly trained and want to ensure the best possible experience. We strive for the highest quality of service and provide our team with the tools and knowledge to be successful. If, for any reason, we don’t meet your expectations, we will gladly refund you for the labor and/or components.

Discount, Closeout, & Special Ordered Products

Closeout, discounted, and special ordered merchandise are final sale. We are not able to accept returns or issue refunds for those items. However, we understand that some things don’t work out as anticipated and will do our best to work with you on a solution. Specific inquiries will be handled through your local store manager or online@summitbicycles.com 

For online orders, we require you to receive confirmation of an acceptable return prior to shipping items back as that will not guarantee a refund. Any items received back without approval may be subject to additional fees associated with packaging and shipment.

Damaged Product

Returned merchandise is carefully inspected upon its arrival to either the store or eCommerce warehouse. Summit Bicycles reserves the right to decide the amount refunded based on the damages or reason for return. If the product is damaged or without its original packaging, you will be refunded the resale value of the merchandise.

Store Credit

Store credit expires after two years of inactivity.
