Yeti SB160 enduro race bike

Who’s it for?

The SB160 is for enduro racers looking for a podium-worthy companion as well as trail riders with a knack for the steep stuff. We expect the top-spec versions to be frequent players in the Enduro World Series as well as local competitions. The SB160’s downhill capabilities and climbing efficiency are ideal for rowdy riders and gives them the option to skip the queue and self-shuttle to their favorite spots.

Why you'll love it

Yeti has spent two years making all the right tweaks and changes, as well as some serious upgrades, to satisfy the high expectations of enduro racers. The SB160 is the latest iteration of the SB150, a winning-bike in the Enduro World Series. This time around, there’s even more travel at the rear and size-specific geometry so all riders can enjoy pro-level performance, regardless of their height.

What's new on the 2023 Yeti SB160?

Check out the SB160 overview below and learn about all its exciting updates.

More Rear travel

The SB160 is the heir to Yeti’s previous enduro racer, the SB150, and extends the rear travel by 10mm while preserving the 170mm fork.

Already tested by the Yeti/FOX Factory Team, the SB160 joins the trend of brands upping their suspension specs— the two-piece wishbone shock extender guarantees better shock compatibility and use for longer-travel setups.

That compact piece of tech saves space in the frame and optimizes leverage rates.

Improved Switch Infinity Assembly

The SB160 T-Series frames come with Yeti’s newest Switch Infinity system, a game-changing pivot suspension design.

This unique pivot switches direction as the bike moves through its entire travel, perfecting the anti-squat values on the climbs and providing a bottomless feel in the roughest spots on the mountain.

Size-specific builds

Each SB160 frame now comes with customized geometry specs to achieve a balanced ride feel, no matter the size.

There are size-specific seat tube angles and chainstays that are proportionate to riders’ measurements as well as refined reach and head angle numbers.

As other brands head in this same direction too, the Yeti engineers have made all the right tweaks and tunes across the S-XXL frame sizes.

New frame features

Yeti has dared to redesign the carbon frame and has included a series of impressive, ride-enhancing features, including a new threaded bottom bracket and high-clearance downtube.

The dual-density downtube protection is composed of cushioning rubber and an external hard cap to ward off any frame damage.

The seat tube is shorter to accommodate longer-travel dropper posts for some serious on-the-fly adjustability.

Refined suspension kinematics

For the suspension geeks and data crunchers out there, the SB160 improved its suspension and has the numbers to show it.

With a progression rate of 17% on the rear shock, there’s great climbing efficiency at the start of travel, plush mid-stroke performance, and progressive end-of-stroke cushion for a bottomless feel.

Yeti SB160 Geometry

The new SB160 now features size-specific geometry so each frame size can achieve its full potential.

Customized seat tube angles allow for an effective seat tube angle of 77.5° across the range and chainstay lengths that change based on the frame, too.

There’s a 64° head tube angle and refined reach numbers for a balanced ride on enduro courses that require efficient climbing and aggressive downhill riding.
