This is our Excellent Adventure Thru-Axle. It upgrades your bike's rear end for hauling cargo trailers, should you feel like taking Rufus along on your errands. Lou is the 26 x 4.8" rear-specific mate to Bud. Lou’s tread is much like Bud’s with tall knobs designed to grind, crawl, and claw its way over rooty, rocky, wet, muddy, loose, or otherwise inhospitable terrain. Lou’s tread pattern is a bit different, however, made for stability while both braking and accelerating. When you’re out on a ride the last thing you want is to be limited by your tires in any way. Our ExtraTerrestrial Tires were designed to let you ride without limits by simply following the only tenets we have for tire design: they’re high volume and they kick ass. The ExtraTerrestrial tire was meant to serve as a heavy-duty off-road touring tire that shines on hardpack surfaces. It uses a nylon breaker in the sidewalls for cut protection, a molded pattern for anti-cut propagation, and a Kevlar cap under the tread to protect against flats. The ET Tire uses a distinctly directional tread pattern and its width yields more traction than you might expect from a tire with such little rolling resistance. The tread is low profile with a file tread in between tread blocks. The Ice Cream Truck fork is made from 4130 CroMoly steel and is designed for Surly's Ice Cream Truck frame. It's ready for trail use and features butted and tapered blades with thru-axle dropouts spaced at 150mm. It has barrel bosses at the dropouts and crown, mid-blade thru-blade eyelets and triple bottle bosses on both fork legs. Our family of Dirt Wizards is highly-focused – one might even say spellbound – on providing traction and control on the kinds of surfaces where nary traction nor control are to be found. Its tread is comprised of a dual row of aggressive, trail-gobbling, beveled knobs in the center and well-spaced, siped knobs to dig into loose corners. Designed to work on 50mm rims, Dirt Wizards are tall and wide, providing next-level traction and cushioning. The casings have been designed to be flexible and responsive, yet durable and supportive. Surly Trailer Parts - These hitch mounts are for connecting Surly Bill and Ted trailers to any 10x1mm solid axle; they replace standard locknuts - They also include threaded stubs for direct mount to Surly Troll and Ogre frames; these frames have eyelets drilled into the dropouts specifically for these mounts

The Bridge Club fork is designed around the 27.5 wheel size with tire clearance up to 2.8, but is also capable of running 700c wheel setups with max tire clearance of 47c. It has 51mm I.S. disc caliper mounts and brake line guides as well. It only has the barnacles that matter most to the discerning bike tourist. Whether for derailleur clamp clearance, tire clearance, or personal preference, sometimes it can be advantageous to run the wheel further back in the dropouts. Monkey Nuts install into Surly horizontal dropouts to make spacing the wheel back easy. There are 3 different sets depending on the type of dropout and axle configuration the dropout is intended for. Simply select the correct version of Monkey Nut, install it into the frame, and slam the wheel all the way forward. Bang, done.

Dummy Rails support Dummy Bags on your Big Dummy cargo bike, and Surly's Dummy Deck bolts directly to them, stiffening the whole system for a more stable load. Dummy Rails are made of light, strong aluminum and were designed in conjunction with the Dummy Deck and Dummy Bags; each component works best when used with the others. Like all Surly products, they've built in lots of useful details. For example, the deck-attachment bosses stick up from the rails to create space between the deck and rails, providing windows to route tie-down straps and cordage; and threaded bottle cage bosses located at the rear of each rail provide mounting locations for accessories: bottle cages of course, or lights, cameras, pumps, flags, horns, light saber scabbards, disco balls, spittoons, cornucopias, etc. Dummy Rails will work with cargo frames (including the Surly Big Dummy) built around Xtracycle's longtail standards.
